The Wizard has a good advantage over the other classes in terms of equipment since it doesn’t have to use melee weapons. The main focus when equipping this class with Diablo 3 wizard items is having a good Arcane Power regeneration that will be able to sustain the repeated use of powerful skills and escape mechanics. Also, being arguably the best DPS class in the game, the defenses that the armor provides isn’t very high, the Wizard mostly having to base upon the effects the armors give.

Equipping items like Axes, Maces and other melee weapons are mostly out of discussion but can provide a temporary solution until one will find a suitable wand.
